WHO ARE WE
Jon Toribio
I am a holistic therapist and facilitator of ancestral healing practices, with a path rooted in nature, personal transformation, and traditional medicine.
Growing up in a family connected to therapeutic work, I began my own journey in the late 1990s. Since then, I have devoted my life to learning from respected elders and knowledge keepers from different indigenous and ancestral traditions. Their generosity, wisdom, and trust have profoundly shaped my path, and I continue to approach this learning with deep respect, humility, and gratitude
I believe that meaningful transformation is not found in extraordinary experiences alone, but in the way they are integrated into everyday life.
My intention is to create spaces where people can reconnect with themselves, cultivate greater awareness, and bring lasting, embodied change into the way they live and relate to the world.

I come from a family of artists and wanderers.
Growing up, our home was always open to people from different cultures and corners of the world. It gave me an expanded sense of family, belonging, and culture from an early age.
For more than two decades, I have continued this journey by learning directly from indigenous elders, traditional knowledge keepers, and communities across the world. These encounters have shaped me profoundly.
Beyond healing and ceremonial practices, they have taught me something far more essential: the art of living well.
They have shown me how to live in greater harmony with myself, with the land, and with the relationships that sustain all life.
As a mother, doula, artist, and facilitator, I have dedicated my life to creating places and experiences where people can slow down, reconnect, and remember what it means to belong.
Through the regenerative and educational projects I have co-founded, my intention has always been the same: to cultivate beauty, care, and meaningful human connection while nurturing a deeper relationship with the living world.
Together, we share a deep devotion to care, presence, and the creation of spaces that support meaningful transformation and genuine connection.
Since 2004, we have been dedicated to the quiet craft of creating spaces of beauty and meaning.
Over the years, we have co-created a constellation of projects, each shaped by a deep listening to life.
What unites them is not their form, but their essence: the cultivation of places where people can grow, connect, and remember what truly matters.
Our journey together began in Barcelona, where we co-founded L’encantada, an intentional community that, more than twenty years later, continues to offer a fertile ground for inspiration and transformation.
In 2009, we brought to life El Encuentro, a retreat and holistic therapy centre set within an oak forest in the Sierra de Gata. Although it was lost in the 2015 fires, its spirit remains woven into everything we create.
In 2010, we co-created Escuela del Bosque, a parents’ cooperative for children aged 6 to 14, born from the wish to offer our three children an education rooted in presence, respect, and coherence with our values
.
In 2019, Madreselva emerged in Colares, a living altar, a place of healing, and a centre for community life.
Now, in Marvão, we have arrived at a place where we can truly take root, a land that resonates with all that has been quietly maturing within us over the years.
A place that holds the depth of our vision, where everything we have lived, learned, and created can unfold with clarity, coherence, and a sense of continuity.
Here, our work finds its fullest expression, in relationship with the land, with time, and with all that seeks to grow through it.
